Take Out The Parentheses, It’s True… (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction – Slow Rolling With The Rolling Stones

See if you can guess the kind of day it’s been… Really… Any ideas???

So no, I ain’t going to the Kings game tonight… and not for lack of trying… Circumstances and fate I guess.

Ah well…

This song just popped right into the ‘ol brain… and I so need a massage and something to relax me now.

When I was younger, I always likened the Stones to being the “dirty Beatles.”  They always had a bad boy side… although as I would later learn, so did The Beatles!

I came to The Beatles first… and then I found Mick and Keith and the boys… So glad I did… Obviously!

The Rolling Stones – “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”

Check this old video out… Awesome!

“I can’t get no satisfaction
I can’t get no satisfaction
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no, I can’t get noWhen I’m drivin’ in my car
And that man comes on the radio
He’s tellin’ me more and more
About some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination
I can’t get no, oh no, no, no
Hey hey hey, that’s what I sayI can’t get no satisfaction
I can’t get no satisfaction
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no, I can’t get no
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/r/rolling_stones/satisfaction.html ]
When I’m watchin’ my T.V.
And that man comes on to tell me
How white my shirts can be
But he can’t be a man ’cause he doesn’t smoke
The same cigarrettes as me
I can’t get no, oh no, no, no
Hey hey hey, that’s what I sayI can’t get no satisfaction
I can’t get no girl reaction
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can’t get no, I can’t get no

When I’m ridin’ round the world
And I’m doin’ this and I’m signing that
And I’m tryin’ to make some girl
Who tells me baby better come back later next week
‘Cause you see I’m on a losing streak
I can’t get no, oh no, no, no
Hey hey hey, that’s what I say

I can’t get no, I can’t get no
I can’t get no satisfaction
No satisfaction, no satisfaction, no satisfaction”

All right, Wikipedia, take it away…

(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” is a song by the English rock band The Rolling Stones, released in 1965. It was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and produced by Andrew Loog Oldham. Richards’s throwaway three-note guitar riff – intended to be replaced by horns – opens and drives the song. The lyrics refer to sexual frustration and the commercialism particular to America.

The song was first released as a single in the United States in June 1965 and also featured on the American version of Out of Our Heads, released that July. “Satisfaction” was a hit, giving the Stones their first number one in the US. In the UK, the song initially played only on pirate radio stations because its lyrics were considered too sexually suggestive.  In Britain, the single was released in August 1965; it became the Rolling Stones’ fourth number one in the United Kingdom. The song is considered to be one of the all-time greatest rock songs ever recorded.  In 2004 Rolling Stone magazine placed “Satisfaction” in the second spot on its list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, while in 2006 it was added to the Library of Congress National Recording Registry.”

So not exactly about my day, but still… We all get the idea and this song means something a little different to all of us… We use it for what we need it to be.

The bottom line on what it means is this… It is one of Rock’s most classic, kick you in the ass songs…

It is a crank it up, know every word, sing along at the top of your lungs tune.  And THAT is what Rock n’ Roll is all about.
