So… The Kings won the Cup… For the record, I predicted the Kings in 6… which my buddy Rob scoffed at and said that was the most common prediction out there… But I did say Kings and not Devils, so there. I also said the first 20 minutes would reveal all… How on was that???
It was an odd game. I expected a much tighter score… But as soon as that five-minute major came down, I said they better score at least two… BOOM!
The Devils may gripe about the call, but it was a nasty and unnecessary hit. Penalty was warranted. And like my friend Stuart said… teams HAVE killed power plays…
Look, y’all know I do also like the Devils… and it is hard not to respect the hell out of Marty… I hear he can be an egomaniac… but other than perhaps Patrick Roy, he may be the greatest goalie that ever played the game… I would add Mike Richter and Ken Dryden… maybe Terry Sawchuk into the mix… but man.. Brodeur is amazing… and to play that way at 40!!! Even more amazing.

A little shout out to Jack Johnson… and Wayne Simmonds… Have to feel a little bad for those guys… They played hard for LA and were both really decent and classy human beings.

Enjoy it all. I will be in the sea of humanity and Kings fans on Thursday for the parade and rally. So be calm, LA… Be behaved, LA and relish in this most prized accomplishment… Lord Stanley’s Cup is the most cherished prize in all of sports!!!
Looking at the last few games of the season, none of us saw this coming… It just goes to show you what focus and teamwork can accomplish!!!
