Two Rules

The world seems to be operating with two different sets of rules… one for Israel and one for the rest of the world.

If terrorists unleashed a daily barrage of missiles and rockets from Mexico, what would the US do and how quickly would we do it?

When another country is attacked, are they allowed to protect themselves?  Look at what happened in Mumbai?

So why is it that rockets randomly fired into Israel garner no strong reaction from the world.  Israeli dead garner no sympathy from the world, no outcry from the UN, no outcry from Arab nations… but when Israel moves to take decisive steps to protect itself, the reaction is swift and strong and harsh… “They are unjustified, they are using too much force, those poor people…”

The Arabs call the UN, their home field sounding board, to condemn Israel and bring countless motions against them.

But where is the motion against the way the Palestinians treat captured soldiers?

Gilad Shalit was captured by Palestinian militants in 2006 when they snuck across the border into Israel in the dead of night, and he has been held hostage by Hamas ever since.  They do not allow anyone to see him, including the international Red Cross or peacekeepers.

Why does the world stay silent?

Where are the protests at the way Hamas and other terror groups use children and women and those with diminished mental capacity to strap themselves with explosives?

Where are the protests at the way Hamas hides its bombs and rockets and weapons behind children and in the homes of families and in schools?

Rabbi Marvin Heir has it right… either the world is stupid… or anti-Semitic.  I think we know the answer sadly covers both.

No one is pro-war, just as no one is pro-abortion. We are pro-choice, and the choice to protect one’s own nation and one’s own people is an easy choice to make.  What makes it harder is the way the world sits back in judgement.

A woman bombed a mosque in Iraq the other day… this is a shrine, a place of peace and prayer, where Muslims go to pray.  If they have no regard for themselves, how do we expect them to have regards for others?  And yet, incidents like this do not raise an eyebrow… But an Israeli incursion to stop rockets from raining down on its citizens?  That is cause for protests and flag burning and marching.  Look at how many people all over the world are spewing hate and venom at Israel; calling for her to be destroyed and for “martyrs” to go attack her

The world hates the Jews, hates Israel and we can no longer be quiet about it.

No one wants war.  We don’t.  We want peace, truly.

But there comes a time, when sides must be taken, lines must be drawn. There comes a time when we must make a choice to stand up and be strong, to protect ourselves, our way of life and our freedom.

Side with Israel, the only true democracy in the Middle East, or side with those who call for the destruction of Israel and eventually the destruction of all infidels… I’ll give you a hint… infidels are anyone who is not Muslim, and then eventually, anyone who is not a specific kind of Muslim.  Hmmm… who could that be?  How will that play out?

Enough is enough. Get up, stand up. Don’t let the ignorant or the anti-Semitic take away from the truth.  Israel is not perfect, they have a lot to do to make peace, but we cannot let Hamas, a terrorist organization be the ones getting support and sympathy.  This is a war we all need to fight.  For too long the world sat idly by while the Nazis put their plan into action.  They knew what was happening but did nothing.  We cannot keep making the same mistakes over and over.  Stop terror.  Fight it and then fight just as strongly to make peace.
